Saving one dog will not change the world, but surely for that one dog, the world will change forever.
Uncovering the Hidden Side of San Felipe: The Street Dogs
Mexico's Stray Dog Crisis: Our Local Concern
The country of Mexico has the largest number of street dogs in Latin America. The National Institute of Statistics and Geography estimates that about 70% of 18 million dogs in Mexico live on the street. While it is hard to know exactly how many street dogs are specifically represented in San Felipe, we are all too familiar with the scene of strays and abandoned pets in our community.
How to Help with This Crisis!
Tourists and locals are critical to the well-being of the street dogs of San Felipe.
- Adopt: Open your home to a dog whose world needs changing.
- Volunteer: If you have time to spare on your vacation, contact us! We are always thrilled to have volunteers take dogs for a walk. This not only provides exercise but also helps socialize them and introduces them to potential adopters.
- Donate: Your financial support provides vital medical care, food, and shelter necessary to prepare these dogs for their forever homes.
