It takes a village to save a life, and we are so grateful for ours.
PARTNERS
Our mission is made possible by the incredible organizations that stand by our side.
SNIP – Esterilization San Felipe
An organization dedicated to humanely addressing the companion animal overpopulation crisis in San Felipe, Baja California, Mexico.
The core function of SNIP is to conduct high-volume, high quality spay and neuter (sterilization) clinics. These intensive campaigns are designed to reach a large number of dogs and cats within the community over a short period.
By focusing relentlessly on sterilization, SNIP serves as the proactive force aiming for a long-term, sustainable solution. Crucially, these clinics are where the San Felipe Dog Rescue sterilizes a large number of its own animals, ensuring that the dogs placed for adoption are already spayed or neutered.
The goal is to dramatically reduce the number of unwanted litters born on the streets, thereby improving the overall health and welfare of the animal population and easing the strain on local resources.

Dr. Solis, Dr. Ivan & Dr. Magalena:
Our Indispensable Veterinary Partners
At San Felipe Dog Rescue, the success of our mission hinges on the foundational partnership we share with our dedicated local veterinarians: Dr. Solis, Dr. Ivan, and Dr. Magdalena. These doctors are a critical extension of our rescue efforts, providing the essential medical care that transforms a dog’s life from peril to promise.
The path to adoption for every dog begins in their clinics. Whether a dog requires routine care, immediate treatment for injuries, or intensive care for serious illnesses, the skilled and compassionate work of our vet partners ensures each animal is medically stabilized, diagnosed, and treated. Our close collaboration allows us to swiftly manage recovery plans and ensures every rescue dog is healthy and strong. By dedicating their expertise and generosity, Dr. Solis, Dr. Ivan, and Dr. Magdalena prepare our dogs to be happily and safely adopted, proving the invaluable power of community in animal welfare.

A Lifeline to the North: Street Dog Hero
While our primary mission is centered here in San Felipe, we are incredibly grateful for our collaboration with Street Dog Hero (SDH) based in Bend, Oregon. This partnership provides a vital bridge to the Pacific Northwest, operating as a selective process whenever SDH has the space and resources to accommodate a new group.
The journey to a new life starts on the ground with our SFDR volunteers and our trusted local veterinarians, who work tirelessly to rescue, heal, and medically clear each animal. We believe that saving dogs doesn’t stop at the border, and this partnership is living proof of that belief. When the timing is right for a transport, the SDH and SFDR teams work in tandem to ensure these healthy, hopeful dogs reach Oregon safely.
Once they arrive in the Pacific Northwest, these dogs enter a dedicated foster care program to prepare for their forever homes. While this collaboration doesn’t cover every dog we rescue, these joint efforts represent a beautiful, shared devotion to ensuring that a dog’s chance at a better life knows no boundaries.

Partner Spotlight: Ghost Town Dog Rescue
San Felipe Dog Rescue is proud of our multi-year partnership with Ghost Town Dog Rescue in Arizona. This collaboration serves as an important bridge for many of our rescues, providing a coordinated pathway from the streets of San Felipe to the United States. Through this ongoing relationship, we are able to facilitate the transport of select dogs to Arizona, where they can be adopted into permanent homes. By working together, SFDR and Ghost Town Dog Rescue help ensure that these dogs receive the opportunity for a new life and a secure future with their forever families.
